| Sucks about the seaweed, but glad to hear the ladyfish are easily accessible. Good luck the rest of the time you are there. Earl said he was headed to GS yesterday looking forward to hearing his report too. |

Yep I'm down in Gulf Shores now. Tried to fish Little Lagoon this morning with the tide rising, got a few hits below the lightening ran me out. Went back later after the sky cleared some caught 1 small something with a long toothy mouth.
Trying again later _________________

Or was it a ribbon fish (also called cutlass fish)? I have caught dozens of these annoying things!

Not a ribbonfish, but looks to be a needlefish.

The only thing that tastes like redeye is smallmouth caught in AL waters. _________________ JP's advice is to fight in the shade.

The sea weed is awful down here right now though. Basically set up close to where they were feeding and wait for them to pop up again. Cast in amongst em and if one didn't take in about three strips the fly, leader and line was covered in slop. Caught 4. Fun but not worth the headache with the sea weed Too many other things to look at right now anyway. |
