Of course, it wasn't a hard mark to set, seeing as it was his first one...
First cast of the day on a fly he tied (well, at least helped) -- a soft foam spider with orange polka-dots and red eyes we drew on with a sharpie (he insisted)
He really was happy at this moment, but right before I took the picture he realized he stepped in the water and got his clothes all wet. Almost had to go home right then, but he came down off the edge eventually.
A better view of the trophy
My little man is starting to get it...
As we were leaving, he wanted to tie the spider back on, and it worked again...

I might cry if I catch a red eye like that! Isn't that above average for those jewels? _________________ "For hours and hours I am led on by what may be the defining allure of a small stream: curiosity. Whats coming in the next bend, next plunge, next pool." |

Nobody is denying that! I think mine are bigger than CeeLo's and maybe some carnies, so I've got that going for me... _________________ "For hours and hours I am led on by what may be the defining allure of a small stream: curiosity. Whats coming in the next bend, next plunge, next pool." |

Nice work! I got my boy addicted to the fly rod now myself. He can't do any worse than I do with it. _________________ 2013 Coosa River Keepers Canoe/Kayak Neely Henry Champion! I ain't drankin no BP! |
