Whether it is bass, bream or catfish in the freshwater, or reds, pompano and sea trout in the tidal creeks, this is your forum for the lowcountry rivers south of Columbia and I-20.

Forgive me for my ignorance but us northern boys have limited experience with salt-water fishing. I am planning a trip to SC with my dad to do some multi-species fishing in 2011. I have a few questions regarding Redfish fishing.

1. I have a 16 foot deep-V with a 60 horse Merc. Would this boat work ok? Is it too big or too small for Redfishing? What else should I be aware of regarding tides, etc?

2. What are some good baits to use for Redfish?

3. What is a the best time of year to fish for Reds?

Thanks All!
